To make your dishes even more tasty, Liguria offers you a range of condiments made from Taggiasca extra-virgin olive oil and local products. Here are some suggestions.
Pesto: Liguria immediately comes to mind when we speak about pesto. In fact, it is in this splendid region that this sauce was invented, from the skilful combination of our basil, our garlic and the key ingredient – Taggiasca extra virgin olive oil. This mixture creates a delicate pesto, famous worldwide. Simply cannot be missed.
Taggiasca olive paté: Obtained from Taggiasca olives in brine, which are stoned and then transformed into a soft, tasty cream. Ideal as a sauce for pasta and an excellent topping for bruschetta and hors d’oeuvres.
Vegetables in oil: Delicious vegetables steeped in Taggiasca extra-virgin olive oil: baby artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, stoned olives, Trombetta courgettes…
Jams, preserves and jellies: Fruit has always been grown in our hinterland and many companies in the Ligurian valleys make different kinds of preserves and jams. Plenty of taste and many flavours, not only to tempt your taste buds, but to seduce all of your senses. Ideal with our cheeses.
Honey: Fruit of the tireless work of the bee, honey is one of the most wholesome foods in existence, insofar as it does not require any treatment, either in production or in conservation. The main local types of honey, made from the nectar of the flowers growing in our hinterland, are chestnut, acacia, heather, strawberry tree and wildflower.
